Press Release: Alex Lindley wins industry 'Rising Star' Award

Alex Lindley, Director of Garage Hive and Lindleys Autocentres, was named this year’s ‘Rising Star’ at the CAT Awards, held Thursday 9th February at Manchester’s Lowry Hotel.

The prestigious industry lunch saw a full house of 150 guests enjoy a three-course meal ahead of an interview with multiple British Touring Car Championship winner Colin Turkington.

Whilst eleven awards were made in total – to some of the industry’s best-known brands – the ‘Rising Star’ was one of only two accolades given to individuals.

CAT’s judging panel highlighted Alex’s successful work running Lindleys Autocentres’ ten independent garage sites around Nottingham. They also praised his community work in Nottingham, particularly with homeless charities.

Recognition was also given to Alex’s work with Garage Hive. The community-driven garage management software was stated by the judges to have been ‘of benefit to scores of fellow workshop owners nationwide’.

Garage Hive was also shortlisted for the ‘Industry Partner Award’ but in the end it was to be Alex’s day in the spotlight.

“I was genuinely completely shocked to receive this award,” said Alex. “It’s a real honour but it’s only down to the hard work of the teams at Lindley Autocentres and Garage Hive so I’m very proud to have received this on behalf of them.”

Activities show no signs of slowing down for Alex in 2023. The Garage Industry Trends website launched by Garage Hive to make data freely available for the good of the aftermarket has been capturing growing interest.
